This was a beautiful snippet into your life and the way you see the world. It’s been so cold here in Australia and the description of the golden twilight just filled me with warmth.

As much as summerween may be a ‘fake’ holiday, it’s a wonderful excuse to bring people together, celebrate a season and create shared memories.

Thank you. To me the twilight is the only redeeming quality of August. Its a difficult month for me because of the humidity. But I can only image its not easy for you either, living in Australia.

A beautiful post Lily - I've never heard of Summerween before today. But I love the idea and it fits perfectly with a Danish August when the days are getting noticeably shorter and we can enjoy the sunsets, and that soft golden light you mention, well before we head for bed.

thank you. the most redeeming quality August has is that golden-tangerine light. Because it’s a rough month for me. It makes those 100F temp somewhat bearable

I have so much to say about what you wrote. I love everything. The movie recommendations are awesome. I completely forgot about The Faculty movie. I will check out Cape Fear. I feel like you always have some really good recommendations.

The Playlist is awesome. Seriously you captured summerween. You definitely make inspired to throw a summerween gathering before heading back to collage.

I really liked how you wrote this article and the one for July. I liked your take on reading books about other countries independence.

thank you, I’m so glad to hear that. I feel like I’m always introducing people to that movie. Not many have seen it. I apricate you for reading my journals. Thank you. I’m so happy you like them.
